Matt Markie - The Baystate Indoor 2x Money Open Champ

Sunday at the Dome, Wow, how great
is that, BMX, North East, middle of February! Awesome, we saw this
rider, with the heart of a lion take it to a stacked main in the money
open, I met his father in the parking lot, a real cool guy! This rider
gave me a minute!

MM: Matt Markie
Moose: What is your nickname?

What is your current ranking and proficiency?
MM: NBL National #8,CT#1 18-21x
Moose:
What is your favorite bike/frame?
MM: Standard 125R
Moose: What is your goal for the 2005 season?
MM: Get top 5 in 18-21x and make
the main at the Grands!!
Moose: What is your favorite track?
MM: South Park, PA, Louisville, KY

Moose: Do you have any interests
outside BMX?
MM: Basketball, Cars, Hanging with
friends!
Moose: Who are your favorite riders
locally/nationally?
MM: Kyle Bennett has style and
skill, anyone who races fast and has a great attitude about racing.
Moose: What is your favorite food?
MM: Anything with peanut butter.
Moose: Who is your favorite
group/band/singer?
MM: I'll listen to anything but
country, NOT a fan!!
Moose: When did you start BMX?
MM: 1991- I was 4 years old!
Moose: Do you still have your first
trophy?
MM: Well, I have my first ribbon
and I do have the first trophy I ever won!
Moose: Name 1 thing that keeps you
coming back to the track?
MM: It's fun, my friends, and the
competition, people at races are always fun people.
Moose: If not BMX, what would you
be doing for a sport?
MM: Probably basketball, but I
never really gave it any thoughts!
Moose: My moto is "it's all about
the first berm" What's yours?
MM: It's not about the
Holeshot, it's all about the finish line!
Well, Matt Markie has the "skills
to pay the bills" and I am sure he will be collecting more money
opens in the near future!
