I pull into Rte 44 BMX in R.I. for the Pro 1 BMX Supercamp, right away people are running up to me, saying "Moose, the instructor is a lot bigger than you!" I was like "how does the guy ride a 20 inch?" My answer "REAL GOOD!!!" He had a minute:

Ken Cools

 

Moose: What's your nickname?
KC-Big Rig

 

Moose: What's your current age and proficiency?
KC- I'm 26 and a single A pro

 

Moose: What's your favorite bike?
KC-Redline

 

Moose: What's your goal for the 2005 season?
KC-To turn double A, only $500 to go!

 

Moose: What's your favorite track?
KC-Airdrie, in Alberta Canada 

 

Moose: Do you have any interests outside BMX?
KC-Cooking, reading, fishing, GIRLS, my dog!!!

 

Moose: Who are your favorite BMX riders?
KC-Bubba Harris and Mike Day

 

Moose: What's your favorite food?
KC-Schnitzel, I was born in Austria!

 

10)Who is your favorite music personality?
KC-I'm a Hip-Hop guy, I really like Jay-Z

 

Moose: When did you start BMX?
KC-1985

 

Moose: Do you still have your first trophy?
KC-Yes, I was 6 years old and it's a 2nd place blue ribbon!

 

Moose: Name one thing that keeps you coming back to the track?
KC-The thrill of competition and beating people, I love to win whether it's on a BMX track or beating some old lady to the checkout in a supermarket!!!

 

Moose: If not BMX what would you do for a sport?
KC-Probably road bike racing.

 

15) My moto is "it's all about the first berm!" What's yours?
KC-Track speed is the key to winning in BMX.
 

Well there it is Moose Minute with Ken Cools! He's trained his sister, Samantha Cools to #1, he's trained Bubba Harris to #1, he's the #1 pro in Canada. He's an unbelievable instructor and motivator, with great patience and character. He's 250lbs and rides like butter, they call him "Big Rig" I'm just going to call him Ken "Too" Cools!
